As Moogoo States:

Ourย Milk Washย is one of our most popular products. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be gentler on skin than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that wash well without drying out the skin. The foaming action isnโ€™t quite as intense as it would if we used a synthetic detergent like SLS (or other common culprits that end in โ€“fate), but weโ€™re happy to make this small trade-off to use more natural ingredients that are healthier for us and the environment. Ever think about what happens to your wash products after they go down the drain? Synthetic ingredients donโ€™t break down into their natural components easily in the water system as natural ones do.

We also use a mix of natural skin conditioning ingredients. We don’t use any essential oils that can also trigger reactions, but instead, a blend of Vanilla with the allergy-triggering compounds removed. Because itโ€™s so gentle itโ€™s also a no-tears formulation in children’s eyes. If you are a car mechanic, you may need something a bit stronger, but if you wish to stay clean without stripping the skin of oils, we think this formula is the beeโ€™s knees. Suitable for all ages, body part and skin types.

FAQs

Are you cleansers safe for lash extensions?

The Milk Wash is great for lash extensions. It has the same irritation score as water and uses a combination of gentle natural cleansers. Oils can break down the glue used, so steer clear of any oil-based cleansers like ourย Oil Cleansing Methodย on the eye area whilst youโ€™ve got lashes on.

Is this product made of milk?

We arenโ€™t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. If you think about it, putting any meaningful amount of fresh milk into a cream and then putting it on a shelf in a store for a while would not end well โ€“ yuck! We do use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier in a some of our skincare products because research has found that it helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%.

Can this product be used on the face and body, or just the body?

Absolutely! All MooGoo cleansers are for everyone and everywhere. Use on the face & body, suitable for all ages and skin types.

What does “Dermatologically Tested” mean?ย

You may have seen the term โ€œDermatologically Testedโ€ on lots of products before, but did you know thereโ€™s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didnโ€™t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. Weโ€™re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.

‘Fragrance’ is listed as one of the ingredients in this product. What does this mean?

When we first started making products, we used a blend of essentials oils to give them a lovely fragrance. But many people have severe reactions and allergies to them, even in small amounts. As a result, and because we make products for people with sensitive skin, we took them out of most products.ย  Instead, we helped to develop a special kind of fragrant oil, whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. This is how we can have a pleasant-smelling product without the reactions. The scents we use are proprietary blends from the company we get them from, and weโ€™ve had no reactions since we made the switch. Also, of course, it is free from phthalates, which is the main concern in fragrances.
